Lighting
and daylighting

Welcome on the ingélux Lighting Design website.
ingélux is an innovative daylight and artificial light engineering office which uniquely combines a sensitive approach of light together with a strong scientific background. We aim at being the preferred partner of professionals (architects, engineering firms, municipalities, urban planners, manufacturers, public research labs) for indoor and outdoor lighting applications. We strive to help them achieving their goals by creating high quality luminous environments, at day and night, with the smallest impact on the environment and the lowest energy consumption.
Our long lasting cooperation with renowned architects, global engineering firms, leading property developers, urban planners of large cities and key manufacturers is the result of an accurate knowledge, always up to date. We are involved in international research and development programs on fundamental needs of lighting applications in order to consolidate our knowledge and methodologies in this field.
Ingelux is also engaged in a number of international initiatives which aim at using light and its enabling technologies in the best possible way (IEA – CIE – Greenlight etc.)

Scientific approach

ingélux was created in 2001 in Lyon, France, to value the research that was conducted at the CNRS (French National Scientific Research Center) on daylight and artificial light in building and urban applications. We thus manage all scientific aspects of lighting which permits to ensure our specifications. We use calculations, simulations, prototypes and demonstrators in order to verify assumptions, either internally or together with our clients.

Approche sensible

We manage a double approach based on architectural and engineering skills, allowing a real comprehension of the projects with the various type of clients (artists, architects, engineers, designers, investors, users, visually impaired people…). We use these specific competences to extract light requirements from the very fundamental orientations and needs of the projects. Our role is then to propose meaningful and reliable solutions, answering the specifications with high visual comfort and energy savings.
ingelux delivers demonstrative lighting projects since 12 years, with major realizations around the world in the fields of light beautification, interior lighting design, architectural lighting, urban lighting and lighting shows.

ingélux is involved in several research and applicative projects dealing with human health and light. Our role is to make the bridge between the fundamental human needs and final lighting solutions. Ingélux already managed programs on lighting for visually impaired people, and develops solutions based on the circadian rhythm and characteristics of retina’s CGRip for instance. This knowledge is then applied in our construction projects.

Innovative technologies

We participate to innovative research and innovation projects (European and national collaborative projects) on daylight and artificial light. This activity allows an intense technological survey looking forward to apply latest technological solutions in our projects, when these solutions are verified and ensured.
